The
music hall in SM Mall of Asia was transformed into a place for an all-day of
inspiring and informative talks, various booths, exciting freebies and raffle
draws.
The
event was hosted by Belle de Jour with this year’s theme “Make it Happen,” to
inspire Filipinas to act and chase their dreams now. The event was also an
avenue to launch their flagship brand of planners for 2014.
Dermclinic, one of Belle de Jour’s lifestyle brand
partners, took part at the event to provide existing and new clients real
beauty by professional dermatologists. The team which led by Dermclinic's sales
and marketing manager, Jillen Oasan pointed out what’s in store to those who’ll
be visiting the booth. “We have our core
products – the NuDerm Supreme and the NuDerm Classic lines which are much known
to our clients; we are giving a 40% discount to (Dermclinic) clients and to the
fans of Belle de Jour,” Oasan said during the fair.

Aside from a huge discount offered on the NuDerm
products, visitors enjoyed a free skin analysis at the Dermclinic booth.
Visitors of the booth were enlightened about the different skin conditions and
issues, and learned about the basics of skin care.
In line with Belle de Jour’s theme of empowering
and inspiring women, they staged pure entertainment to foster new friendships,
and made it possible to invite women of this generation who were all successful
in their respective fields to give a talk and advice.
Dermclinic’s beauty ambassador and 2010 Ms. Universe 4th runner-up, Venus Raj was invited to participate in one of the talks; she shared to women her sweet journey towards the crown.

She talked about the hindrances she encountered
and recalled that some people don’t appreciate her. “I have dark skin so I wasn’t really appreciated when I joined (beauty
contests). But after joining several pageants, I came to realize that I could
also compete regardless of skin color.” Despite the unappreciative people
that surrounded her before, she gave credit to her family for being her number
one fan.
“They
(family) encouraged me to join contests … they were always there to support me even
up to now.”
With regards to taking care of her skin, the
olive-skinned beauty shared that “Dermclinic is there to take care of my
skin, to take care of my face … to keep me glowing.” And more importantly, “to have a healthy lifestyle and a healthy diet,” Raj
said.
Moreover, Skin Essence had a quick chat with
the beauty queen moments after her inspiring sit-down interview in the music
hall.
“Just focus
on the dream … if there are too many things that distract us from what we want,
we cannot achieve anything,” said Venus when asked what message can she impart
to women of the 21st century.
Amid the stressors she sometimes encounters in
life, she still maintains an all-glowing skin and carries a bright smile
wherever she goes. Truly, Venus Raj is the perfect ambassador for Dermclinic’s “Life is more Beautiful” campaign. With that being said, Venus ended the conversation
with a striking question: “Who will love you if you don’t love
yourself?” emphasizing that living a beautiful life
starts from acceptance within oneself.
