AMW x Dermclinic gives: Love the skin you are in with Dermclinic GCs

Hi AMW Friends!

Aside from loving the Friday Madness, Friday is the best time to share another giveaway! Do I hear “Yehey?” I caannn’ttt heeaaaarrrr yoooouuuu!!!!

Thanks to our friends from Dermclinic for being so supportive of my blog as they are willing to give 2 GCs for 2 lucky AMW readers to try! I can’t contain my excitement! If you were able to attend to ANY of my makeup workshops, I always start by talking about skincare, why? Well, a healthy and well-cared skin do not need much makeup! Can you imagine how easy life is to cut your makeup time in half because your skin radiates the natural glow?

Less Makeup is More on a Good Skin Day

BUT, with our environment, it is very difficult to keep our skin looking fresh and healthy without the help of skin care products and facials. I am one STRONG believer of having your skin taken care by a dermatologist or professional skin care clinic makes a WHOLE difference! Way back when I was working in China, I used to have regular facials on a weekly basis and I tell you, my skin was glowing!

Though I can’t seem to have the schedule/time to go to clinics like I use to, I have some secrets to take care of my skin

  • I use Sunscreen on a daily basis, yes, even when I don’t go out of the house!
  • I wash my face with gentle face cleanser regularly and remove my makeup thoroughly before I go to sleep at night.
  • Given the time, I go at least once a month or once every 2 months to have a regular facial, let’s say for my sensitive skin, I only need a facial that keeps my skin hydrated. Or when I really don’t have the time, I rely on facel masks! :)

As for YOU, whether you are a regular facial clinic customer or a first-timer, I give you the chance to try Dermclinic

Dermclinic was founded by the renowned father of Philippine Dermatology Dr. Vinson B. Pineda. According to him: “Our skin needs the necessary maintenance and care on a daily basis. Added to that would be a regular consultation with a dermatologist and undergo procedures that address our skin needs. Otherwise, as you age, the neglect begin to show like wrinkles and age spots which could be irreversible.”

I’m happy to learn that Dermclinic has a team of well-trained and highly experienced dermatologists. That is very important for me as I learned there are so many skin clinics in the Metro that do not have well-trained consultants/dermatologists.

Just in case you wonder what Dermclinic offers, they have the ff. services for you to try —

  • NuLight – a safe and effective non-invasive treatment that uses intense pulsed light (IPL) to address specific skin conditions.
  • 3Face – a procedure that give patients a complete facial care – Microdermabrasion, Collagen Renewal and Skin Tightening.
  • NuDerm Supreme – advanced skin rejuvenation system composed of different skincare products, each with its own unique formulation – to cleanse, tone, exfoliate, lighten, moisturize and protect.
For more information, you may visit www.dermclinic.com.ph or call Customer hotline at 817-FACE (3223).

Venus Raj’s new take on beauty

Venus Raj’s new take on beauty
By Jojo P. Panaligan

Venus Raj started the four-year streak of Pinay bets winning at the most prestigious international pageants in 2010 when she ended up as Miss Universe 4thrunner-up. Her victory was made more significant by the fact that the last time the Philippines reached the Top 5 was more than a decade prior.

These days, ask Venus about her views on beauty and you’d see her in a different light.

“Lagi na lang beauty is about physical appearance dahil na din sa yan ang na-pro-promote sa media pero ang totoo, hindi lang yan tungkol sa kulay mo, sa kutis mo, sa tangkad mo, sa liit ng bewang mo. Walang peg ang beauty. As long as may maganda kang kalooban and you do what’s right, you become beautiful in the eyes of people,” she said in an exclusive interview.

Venus recalled a time when she wanted to become fair-skinned.

“But then I became a Born Again Christian and I realized that seeing maputi as a measure of beauty is the world’s standard. Now I look at my brown skin and I’m thankful for it. Eto ang bigay sa akin, so why would I want something else?”

It doesn’t mean, though, that one should not do anything and everything to enhance or preserve ones’ looks. Beyond vanity, Venus believes taking care of oneself is divine mandate.
“God wants us to be healthy, both inside and out. We also reflect His work in our lives by the way we look. Wag mong pabayaan ang mga gifts Niya sa yo,” was her simple explanation.

In renewing as endorser of the 42-year-old Dermclinic, the beauty queen is happy that its anniversary theme is “Be in the Pink,” with emphasis on beauty a by-product of being healthy. The go-to dermatological center of Dr. Vinson B. Pineda already has 18 branches nationwide and Venus can explain the success from a personal point of view.

“This company treats me and all of its clients like family. Mararamdaman mo yan. In my case, comfortable ako even sa pinakamay-ari. He guides me in things beyond our professional dealings. He reminds me to be a channel of blessings to people,” she said.
Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Director General Joel Villanueva concurs.
“His existence and the way he runs the business are testaments to God’s goodness and faithfulness. He is my idol and I am one of those who can tell that he is successful because of God’s approval,” Villanueva said to that effect.

Venus advises women and beauty queens to not compare themselves to others. She said that everyone has a time to shine and what’s more important is integrity even when another has taken the spotlight.

“There will always be someone greater or ‘lesser,’ if that’s the word to use. It really doesn’t matter. Just be yourself---the way you were meant to be---and the world will see your beauty. Have peace in your heart, your life. Be happy, stay happy.”

Be in the Pink: Celebrating 42 years of Professional Dermatology with Dermclinic

“Happy skin day! Be in the pink!”
Not even the world’s strongest storm could dampen the spirit of everyone who came to celebrate Dermclinic’s 42nd Anniversary in SM Megamall on the afternoon of November 8, 2013.
Professional Dermatology
Dr. Vinson B. Pineda, the acknowledged “Father of Philippine Dermatology” and recognized as the country’s top dermatologist, founded Dermclinic in 1971. Having experienced the ordeal of acne problems in his youth, Dr. Pineda made it a mission to bring the right skin care to every Filipino.
For 42 years, Dermclinic has revolutionized skin care by providing high-quality dermatological products and services that are second-to-none. As the pioneer in mall-based skin clinics in the Philippines, Dermclinic dedicated itself in bringing the best aesthetic results through the safest and advanced medical techniques.
“Dermclinic is a professional and ethical clinic, manned by professional dermatologists,” emphasized Dr. Pineda. “We have doctors.”
Backed by fully certified professional and rigorously trained dermatologists, and continuously investing in state-of-the-art medical equipment and research, Dermclinic remains the top-of-mind dermatological center in the Philippines with 18 branches nationwide.
Beauty
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Or so the old adage says.
In 2011, when “having whiter skin is beautiful” was the norm, Dermclinic raised a lot of eyebrows—and questions—when 2010 Miss Universe 4th Runner-up Venus Raj, a dark-skinned beauty, was announced as its brand ambassador. “Dermclinic is the first dermatological clinic who accepted the natural beauty in me. Kayo po ang mga unang naniwala na ang ganitong kulay pala ay maganda,” recalled Ms. Raj.
Health radiates beauty, enthused Dermclinic Sales and Marketing Manager, Jillen Oasan. As embodied by its anniversary theme “Be in the Pink,” Dermclinic has always believed that beauty, in the eye of every beholder, is defined by having a healthy and glowing skin.
42 Successful Years
I grew up idolizing Dr. Pineda not only because he is a world-renowned dermatologist—but also because of his immeasurable passion to be a channel of God’s blessing to other people,” shared Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Director General Joel Villanueva. “This day reminds us of God’s goodness and faithfulness,” he added.
Dr. Pineda, aside from wearing the CEO’s hat of Dermclinic, is also a Senior Pastor of the MM Light of the World Church. He attributes his and Dermclinic’s success to God.
In the 42 years of our existence as one of the top dermatological institutions, we are successful because of God’s approval,”declared Dr. Pineda. “We are going to increase and be prosperous because that is God’s plan for us.”
As witnessed by partners from ABS-CBN, Manila Bulletin, Business Mirror, New You Magazine, and the PR group Allouata, as well as the entire Dermclinic family—there’s no stopping at 42. Life is indeed more beautiful with Dermclinic.
